Rules

Writing rules is up there as one of the hardest parts of game design. Rules must get the message across in simple and effective language. As the rules to Cubiko are exposed on the packaging they must be concise as space is at a premium. I like using bullet points, they are punchy and are useful for breaking up the text. So here are my bullet points for my rules on writing rules.

Rules must:

* be accurate
* survive literal interpretation.
* have no ambiguities.
* avoid repetitiveness.
* take nothing for granted.
* have perfect spelling and grammar.
